Cavities
Cavities are one of the most widespread diseases in the world. According to data from the WHO, nearly 5 billion people, or 90% of the world's population, are affected by cavities. An epidemiological study showed an alarming global rise in cavity prevalence.
In order for cavities to form, several factors must exist at the same time: a vulnerable tooth, bacteria, food deposits in the mouth, especially those containing sugar, and plaque.
Breaking down sugar creates acids 3 minutes after consumption. The greatest concentration is achieved in 15 to 20 minutes. After that, the acidity drops because it is diluted by saliva and rinsed out by food particles, which is why teeth should be brushed immediately after meals. The contact surfaces, deep crevices and neck of the teeth directly above the gums are the places less accessible to self-cleaning and brushing, so they are the places cavities form. The most active cavity-fighting ingredient in all Plidenta toothpastes is fluoride.
